The Singapore International Comedy Festival is on around March and April and is a right laugh. A lot of international acts are attracted to the place. The Arts festival is on in June around the city. The WOMAD Festival is usually in September, while the Singapore River Buskers Festival begins in November and brings a lot of music and excitement to the streets. The art scene in Singapore has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years and has been well supported by the local government.
The Chinese New Year is always celebrated here in real style and colour. There is usually a very lively Chingay procession that creates the biggest street parade in Singapore each year. Also there is the birthday of the Monkey God that is celebrated each year, as well as processions along the streets of the city during Thaipusam.
The Zouk nightclub has a massive dance-floor and has three different dance areas, with their own bars, that can cater for different tastes in music and style. Fatboy slim has performed as DJ here and the place is well worth a visit.
