Singapore has a booming tourist industry and also is home to a large community of ex-pats. This has created a large demand in the city for European fare. Places like Shrooms Restaurant, which is located in Chijmes, is a great choice.
The Imperial Herbal Restaurant is quite unique because the resident herbalist will assess your yin and yang and recommend the herbs that will balance your body. That is very original. Also one can also impress ones partner at the New Pasir Ris Fishing Pond Restaurant, where they will let you fish for your own dinner. This is a great chance to show off your great fishing skills.
Do not forget to try out one of the great Teahouses. They will brew a coffee in front of you and you can relish the scents and flavour of the Chinese tea, which is supposed to be really good for the soul. The Tea Chapter is meant to be the best Teahouse. It has great service and a relaxing atmosphere to the place. If that is not really you're cup of tea, then find one of the Starbucks Coffee shops around the centre of the city.
The local delicacies in Singapore will include Chillli crab, which is just excellent. Also not to be passed over is the Jumbo Seafood Restaurant and the Gold Coast Live Seafood Restaurant have a really great menu, which includes all the fruits of the sea. There are more restaurants along the East Coast Parkway that you can choose from.
